The new regulations require all the marketers to register for GST to receive a 15- digit GST registration number. We’re still getting to know the structure of this tax system and how this impacts various industrial verticals. Is a GST going to be levied on purchasing of Facebook Ads?

No, there will be no GST levied to the cost of your of Facebook ads.

Is it a necessity to add GST number to your advert account?

Yes, regardless of you not being charged, it is important to add your registered GST number to your Advert Account to continue with the advertisements you are running. This is applicable for any business page’s Advert Account on Facebook. Please note: as of now it’s not mandate but Facebook’s forums says that GST number needs to be added with your Facebook Ads Account.

How to add GST number to your Advert account?

Once you have received your GST number, you can add this information to your Advert Account.

Step 1: Under Ads manager, go to the menu and hover over “All tools”.

Step 2: Click Advert account setting under the Setting tab.

Step 3: Select account information found at the left hand side of the screen.

Step 4: Scroll down to fill all the required information related to your account.

Step 5: Choose your business country i.e., India from the drop down.

Step 6: Enter your 15-digit registered GST number.

Step 7: Save the changes and you are done.
