December is here upon and this means Digital Marketers are about to get busy. The reason may range from getting busy for the Christmas season for brands to ideating strategies for the upcoming New Year. But for the last 3 years, there is one more reason that gets the Digital Marketers excited. It’s December 16th.
It’s the Digital Marketing Day!
How did it begin?
The idea of Digital Marketing Day began in 2018 in one of the most happening Digital Marketing groups on Facebook. Digital Marketing question and answers. The participants of the group randomly chose the date December 16th as the Digital Marketing Day, and the preparations were flowing immediately.
Like-minded people came together, created WhatsApp groups and started taking the lead to host the event in their city. More than 20 cities participated, and the event got a lot of media coverage. And since then, every year, December 16th has been set to be the Digital Marketing Day.
Why Digital Marketing Day?
India is growing to be a powerhouse in terms of Internet content consumption. And the lockdown period has made brands realize the power of Digital in reaching a vast amount of audience. The country is all set to expect more than 840 million Internet users in India.
To create awareness and noise about the platforms and to talk about the rising trends in the Digital Marketing world, Digital Marketing Day is celebrated across the nation!
What’s in Store for Digital Marketing Day 2021?
Every year, Digital Marketing Day focuses on a theme that promises to be the next big thing in the upcoming year. This time around, the theme is Influencer Marketing and the Rise of Creator’s Economy!
Just like every year, many cities have come forward to make it a huge success by people volunteering to host it in their own way. Some events are paid, some are unpaid, some are in cafes, some are in institutes, but no matter what the conditions are, one thing unchanged, Digital Marketers will unite and celebrate their uniqueness!
