1. Meta Introduces New WhatsApp Scam Activity Alerts

    Improved group request insight and enhanced alarms for individual chat requests are two new steps Meta announced to safeguard WhatsApp users against scam activities.

    2. Instagram Introduces Friend Maps, Re-Posts, and More

      Three new features has finally been rolled out the three features it has been testing for a while. All users on Instagram  now have access to the “Friends” option in the Reels feed, friend maps, and reposts.

      3. Snapchat includes Saturn Connection to Offer Additional Calendar Insights for Friends 

        Snapchat plans to include Saturn status information straight into Snap profiles after recently purchasing the student planning software. This will provide you additional opportunities to engage with your Snap pals and stay up to date on their activities at all times.

        4. Sitelinks in Google Ads Affect Performance Max Ad Strength

          Google Ads has  updated its Performance Max campaigns to include sitelinks in the ad strength score. Now appearing alongside images, videos, and headlines in the asset group interface, sitelinks have become essential for achieving an “Excellent” rating.

          5. Google Ads For Performance: Max Has New Reporting & Control Features

            Google Ads has rolled out powerful new Performance Max campaign updates that significantly enhance advertiser control and transparency. Key features include campaign-level negative keyword lists, expanded search theme limits, precise demographic targeting, and device targeting capabilities.

            6. Google is testing People also search for in AI Mode.

              Google is testing a new “People Also Search For” section within Google AI Mode results. This feature appears below the link cards on the right, offering related search queries based on your initial AI-generated result. Clicking one of these prompts launches a fresh AI Mode search, effectively deepening the conversational search experience.

              7. Microsoft Copilot Is Now Using GPT-5 from OpenAI

                Microsoft has integrated GPT-5 into its Copilot suite, spanning Microsoft 365, GitHub Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, and more. With a new “Smart Mode” that automatically switches between models for optimal performance based on task complexity. Users can now tap into advanced reasoning, faster responses, and improved coding capabilities across platforms, combining AI flexibility with enterprise-grade performance and safety.

                8. WhatsApp Offers Additional Group Call Features 

                  To help increase its potential use, WhatsApp is introducing additional collaboration tools like call link notifications, group call scheduling, and in-chat indications for contributors.

                  9. Post Counter for Linked Updates Is Added by Threads

                    Threads has rolled out a neat new feature. Your linked posts now show an automatic count. This number tells you how many posts are in the whole sequence. This count makes it easy to follow along. No more guessing where you are in the series.

                    10. Edits Receives Safe Zone Mapping, Updated Reels Insights, and More

                      Meta’s “Edits” video editing app now features an enhanced Reels analytics interface for performance comparison, safe-zone mapping with “snap-to-edge” alignment, refined keyframe curves for smoother animation control, plus a new export progress overview. 

                      11. Deep Dive Button is being tested by Google Search.

                        Google is testing Deep Dive button in its knowledge panels. When tapped it gives a bullet point over view of the relevent query. This feature is  AI backed with google’s gemini.

                        12. Energy-Saving Green Leaf Label on Product Listings in Google Search

                          In the Google Search product listings side panel, Google is now displaying the energy-saving badge with a green leaf icon. These may now appear in the product listings box. 

                          13. Microsoft Copilot Connects Local Reviews To Google Maps.

                            Microsoft’s Copilot (formerly Bing Chat) now incorporates Google Maps reviews in its local AI results. Users who click the star ratings within Copilot are redirected directly to the corresponding Google Maps business profile.

                            14. Next month, Meta might reveal new smart glasses.

                              Meta is reportedly preparing to unveil its next smart glasses, codenamed Hypernova, at its upcoming Connect conference. These camera-equipped glasses will feature a heads-up display visible in the wearer’s field of view and a wrist-controlled UI. 

                              15. YouTube Now Allows Users to “Trim Silence” Podcast Playback

                                Users can now choose to cut pauses in a podcast recording’s playback by using YouTube’s new “Trim Silence” feature. A new “Trim Silences” toggle has been added to the podcast playback options for users.

                                16. Artist Engagement Options is added to Youtube

                                  YouTube Music has added some new fan engagement features; such as loyalty badges like “First to Watch” and “Top Listener”, plus music video milestone achievements. The platform also debuts an exclusive partnership with Bandsintown to highlight local live shows directly within the app.

                                  17. View Asset Details for the New Preview Ad Link in Google Ads

                                    Google Ads now includes a “Preview Ad” button within the View asset details panel. Clicking it launches a live ad preview in the same window, enabling advertisers to quickly view their creatives without navigating away.

                                    18. To Increase CTR, Bing Modifies Copilot AI Answer UX

                                      Microsoft updated the Bing Copilot AI answer interface moving the source links into a “Read more” dropdown instead of showing them right away. Spotted by Frank Sandtmann, the change could mean fewer clicks for websites since users now have to dig a little deeper to see sources.

                                      19. One Verified Badge Will Replace Local Service Ad Badges on Google

                                        Google will replace its multiple Local Services Ads badges; Google Guaranteed, Google Screened, and License Verified, with a single Google Verified badge. The update aims to simplify credibility signals for businesses and consumers alike by offering a more cohesive and clear trust marker across Local Services Ads.

                                        20. WhatsApp Now Offers AI-Powered DM Suggestions

                                          WhatsApp now offers a new AI writing assistant feature that might add spark to your conversations. The new “Writing Help” feature on WhatsApp offers AI-powered recommendations for ways you could enhance your conversation.

                                          21. YouTube Increases Live-Stream Donations by Extending Gift Goals

                                            YouTube is testing with expanded “gift goals,” which will allow creators to offer a reward at a specific payment threshold, as an additional means of encouraging live-stream donations.

                                            22. Threads Tests Text Expansion in-stream for Extended Updates

                                              A custom text editor that attaches a separate text window is part of Threads’ now. The new text editor that Threads is testing  makes it simple to turn your post into a larger article that will be instantly attached to your update.

                                              23. Google Tests Modifications to AI Mode to Promote Clicks

                                                Google plans to test improvements to AI Mode that will encourage publishers to click like Web guides are tested on the All tab rather than just the web tab, embedded link carousels in AI Mode, and links that are directly embedded within text.

                                                24. Chat in Google Ads has been changed to Ads Advisor.

                                                  The “Chat” button or feature in the Google Ads interface has been renamed “Ads Advisor.” This tweak reflects a change in Google’s approach to supporting its advertising partners. More supportoffered by the transition from a basic chat function to a more advisory position.

                                                  25. Bing Tests Bolding the Site Name When Hovered

                                                    Microsoft Bing is trying bolding the site name, when you hover your mouse pointer over the search result snippet.
